There is a big snort in Dallas over this pizza joint, owned by Hispanics, called Pizza Patron, that accepts Mexican pesos as well as US dollars. Those who are up in arms say that American businesses should only accept American dollars and that with all the immigration issues we already have, this is just making it worse.
I say, get over it already. If you really want to enforce that rule, march on up to the Canadian border & enforce it up there too. But apparently mostly white, mostly English-speaking foreigners don't count. (nothing against Canadians, b-u-r-l-y-f-a-m-i-l-y, just making a point)
If you REALLY want to be non-hypocritical about it, you need to march yourselves into a LOT of businesses in a LOT of other countries & demand that they only accept their own countries' currencies, not American dollars.
It's their pizza joint; if they want to accept fatted calves as payment, what business it it of yours, as long as they're doing ethical business?
If you don't like what they're doing, don't buy their pizza.

I agree on all points. IMO, it's nothing more than uncrucified pride that people have against our neighbors. (By the way, I enjoyed using the USD in Guatemala & Honduras.)
lava schmava. it wasnt flowing like a river, more like edging its way toward me. maybe 1-2 feet per minute. :) (all taken on the assumption it wouldn't 'burp' and gain 10 feet in a second, which i guess was entirely possible. or that some subterranean tunnel would give way beneath me, or ... well, you get the picture! i inched up to it, took the photo, and got back away pretty quickly!!)
