Bullet Dodged

My wonderful husband, as most of you know, got called for jury duty and had to be at the courthouse Monday & yesterday. Much to our relief, he didn't even get his name called. :):):) Many many thanks to Mrs. Holly, who kept the Wee One for us those two afternoons.

Both of us got a big lesson in the court system, though. I could tell you about hospitals inside & out, but courtrooms are NOT my thing. My husband could tell you how to hang siding, fertilize, aerate, hang cabinets, install flooring, whatever, but ditto on the court system. It is the most BORING place either of us have ever been in our lives. The judge & bailiffs seemed to be fairly nice people. The attorneys? Self-important, self-serving, greedy, pompous. Full of hot air. Most of them anyway. These two were. We were talking to several other potential jurors during a recess & found we weren't the only ones who wondered what the point of asking the SAME QUESTION 5 DIFFERENT TIMES TO THE SAME PERSON. Probably because they enjoyed hearing themselves speak.

Anyway, that is over and we are most grateful to the Lord.
