Not very fancy, as I'm TIRED.
1) My little bubby has finished his second week of bootcamp at Parris Island, SC (Marines). In letters home (to Dad, not to me) he has related how he's been called every name in the book, has had to go 4 days without grooming/clothes changes of any sort. But the rascal says he's having fun, so hey. The last letter ended ".....they just called us ladies. So I gotta go." Nice! We've been sending him letters every day, in very plain white envelopes and no frills. I did draw him a picture of a cookie in one letter, since we can't actually send real cookies right now. I hope that doesn't earn him a night in the mud or worse.
2) Again, woot for Netflix! Since the last Netflix shout-out, we've watched 'We are Marshall' (B+) and 'The Motorcycle Diaries' (A). First was a feel-good movie, second was very interesting. About how Ernesto 'Che' Guevara got his start. I don't agree with his methods nor all his ideology, but think that the US overstepped its bounds in dealing with him.
Anyway, the movie was very well done. Not pro- or anti- anything, just a portrayal.
Next is 'The Last King of Scotland.' Have a feeling that will be pretty heavy.
3) Sweet Daniel moment: We're sitting on the couch watching a movie & eating pizza this afternoon. He looks up at Jesus & says, "Daddy, I love you really much." Sniff, sniff.
4) My brother-in-law (living in CA) is getting married sometime this year! We just found out a few days ago. His fiancee is American. There must be something about us....:) I talked to him for the first time in years tonight, and talked with her as well. She seems to be a very sweet girl with a good head on her shoulders, and she's a Christian. Can't ask for more.
